Child Disability Benefit (CDB)

The Child Disability Benefit is a tax-free benefit for families who care for a qualifying child under the age of 18. A qualified practitioner, on form T2201, must make the determination of a qualifying child.

To be eligible for the benefit a child must have a severe and prolonged disability, lasting at least 12 months.

The benefit can be as much as $2395 per year.

To apply for benefits, have your practitioner fill out the Form T2201, http://www.cra-arc.gc.ca/E/pbg/tf/t2201/README.html then send the completed signed form to your tax center.
